There is an element in my work that ties up weaving and interweaving with sophisticated thoughts, timelessly old and curiously modern. They go back long, long ago, to use a cliché, to the mists of time, and I am especially inspired by biblical writings from both old and new testaments, especially Exodus and Matthew 25:35. But I am fully aware that I live in the 20th century, in the modern age with its downsides and upsides, its anguish and joys and its problems of industrialization.
